报告摘要:Chemotaxis is the movement of an organism in response to a chemical stimulus. Somatic cells, bacteria, and other single-cell or multi-cellular organisms direct their movements according to certain chemicals in their environment. This is important for bacteria to find food by swimming toward the highest concentration of food molecules, or to flee from poisons. In multi-cellular organisms, chemotaxis is critical to early development (e.g., movement of sperm towards the egg during fertilization) and subsequent phases of development (e.g., migration of neurons or lymphocytes) as well as in normal function. In addition, it has been recognized that mechanisms that allow chemotaxis in animals can be subverted during cancer metastasis. In this talk, we propose open problems and review recent works,
报告人简介:周正芳,密歇根州立大学数学系教授,1986年毕业纽约大学柯朗研究所,师从国际著名偏微分方程大师 Nirenburg, L. 在国际知名数学杂志 Appl. Comput. Harmon. Anal. PNAS, JFA, Siam J. Math. Anal. CPDE, Trans. AMS. PNAS, CMP等发表多篇学术论文。
